Great write up Matthew. The lack of defensive effort and guys knowing where they should be has been frustrating to say the least. I’m interested to see what adjustments Pop makes to finish the season to try and fix those issues.

It feels a little strange to see all the praise from Pop for Sochan’s defensive IQ and then to have him turn around and say nobody is playing any defense.

Well I think there’s a big difference between acknowledging someone’s defensive IQ/effort and criticizing their actual performance. And he’s done both of those things this season. In my last article there is a quote from Pop speaking on just that -- basically that despite the missed assignments and losing focus he appreciates his willingness to jump right into the challenges. Very young, gonna make plenty of mistakes.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Bring reason and logic to an emotional argument. 🙄

I really need to work on my ‘fly off the rails’ skill set. This rational stuff doesn’t sell.

😆😆😆 I think you just need to learn to work in scorchingly hot takes about the Lakers and/or LeBron and that should sell enough to let you spend the rest of your time on the rational stuff.

I wonder if I’ve missed the boat on just shredding Dejounte. I dunno maybe I can drop something blaming him for Nate McMillan’s firing lol

Too niche. Only plays well in San Antonio and Atlanta. You have to blame LeBron and Rich Paul/Klutch for masterminding the whole thing as a way to eventually get him to the Knicks. That should rope in enough big market controversy to stir up some clicks.
