I love their approach. Young and full of energy and speed. They will only get better as the season goes on, if they follow the trend of teams coached by Pop in the past. Yes. They will probably run into slumps, like most teams, but they’re still learning Pop’s game, each other, and developing their bodies.

Yeah, that’s the thing, they’re going to get better. Early season stuff is fluky, but the Spurs have jumped all over teams not ready to play. At a certain point the number of wins is going to get uncomfortable for those Wanting Wemby.

We know the players want to win., I think most fans will appreciate winning, too - probably more than they thought they would when they thought the team wasn't as good as it is. As fans, we love to root for an underdog. And we love when our team wins. If there are fans that can see a winning season coming and still won't root for these guys, I don't think they're fans of this team - they're fans of some future version of this team that may never happen. Even a 14% chance of getting a potentially awesome player doesn't justify rooting against the team the Spurs are now.

Just picture it's April, and it's a game 7 in a first round series against an older, weary, potentially injury affected Golden State team. Will the people who were cheering for a tanking Spurs be cheering for the Warriors? I know that's an unlikely scenario. However, there are other, more likely scenarios that can bring people around to enjoying this season more than wishing for a grass-is-greener situation. The more they win, the more fans we'll see cheering for this current group of Spurs than wanting them to lose.

The more they win, the more fans will be cheering. It's human nature, and it's significantly more fun. But there is going to be a percentage of fans that will stay strong to the cost-benefit analysis, because they know what they top prize would mean, and they also know what finishing near the Play-In again would mean. Those fans also want to win, btw. They just want a clearer path toward doing so, and for a much longer stretch of time. I completely understand both sides of the equation.

I agree. Some people will believe that at 14% chance at drafting someone with a chance of being the best player in the world someday is worth rooting against this year's Spurs. I hope the percentage goes down as the wins go up. Because these guys are trying their best to win. They're worth cheering for! :)

I don't know if the real Spurs are the ones from the first qtr or the last qtr but I am going to enjoy this ride as long as I can. In the end I think a 14% shot at Victor is better than chasing a 8-10 seed though.

For the most part, probably somewhere in between. Whatever it is I don’t believe it’s a team that wins 75 percent of its games haha
