I’m looking forward to just riding the ups and downs of the season. Trades, trades not made, wins and losses. Que será, será. I’m invested, but it’s not so do or die for me until we are playing for more than a draft pick.
I hear these signs of positive attitudes from everyone and I can’t help but think the Spurs may once again defy the odds and do better than expected. With expectations so low, it won’t be hard to do. I’m rooting for these two to keep up their high volume, high percentage three point shooting. These veteran role models combine well with the young, athletic, talented core. The team has great ball handling, as you point out, and they have the discipline to compete consistently. Even if they’re most likely not going to the playoffs, they could be exciting to watch in their effort to be competitive. But what if they do? I bet more spurs fans would be happy about that than disappointed they don’t get a lottery pick.
Honestly that’s the best way for fans to approach the season when teams are in this position. I know it isn’t always easy to do!
